Dovetail Dash
Coming soon to the App Store
A sliding tile race for iPhone and iPad. Slide the painted tiles in your tray until its center 3×3 matches the target on the brass rail. The first tray to match wins.
Each tray is 5 by 5, with 24 painted tiles, four of each of six colors, and one gap. Only the nine squares inside the brass frame count. The outer ring is room to work. There are no turns: both trays race at once, and the clock starts at Go.
You can play three ways. Race a carpenter across the table: Apprentice, Rival Joiner, or Master Carpenter. Or play Two Players on one device, one tray at each end, both racing at once. Or take the Daily Race: one shared target a day and a single timed run.

What’s inside
- Solo: race Apprentice (Easy), Rival Joiner (Medium), or Master Carpenter (Hard).
- Two Players: share one device in portrait. Each player matches the target as it looks from their own side.
- Daily Race: one shared target a day. Solve on back-to-back days to grow your streak. Leave mid-run and Continue picks up your place and your clock.
- How to Play: a short first-run intro you can skip, plus the full rules from the title screen or Settings.
- Sound and haptics: tile slides and a scramble shaker, with separate Sound and Haptics switches in Settings.
How it plays
The target is shaken, then counted down 3, 2, 1, Go. Drag any tile in the gap’s row or column toward the gap. That tile and every tile between it and the gap slide one step. A short flick works too.
Game Center and devices
If you are signed in to Game Center, your Daily Race time goes to the daily leaderboard and you see your place for today. Your first Daily Race, a 7-day streak, and beating each carpenter earn achievements. Every mode plays without signing in.
On iPad the title and trays scale up to use the larger screen. On an iPhone Duo held in a tent, Two Players gives each player their own screen, with the target on the hinge.
The app does not ask you to create an account, and it has no purchases and no ads. It does not track you, and your Daily progress and settings stay on the device.
